Differentiating between low and high quality web directories is quite simple and requires only a careful analysis of the targeted web directory. I’ve written few factors that high quality web directories usually share. Analysis of a web directory while considering these factors can safe your time and money.

1- Directory must have some of kind of quality check on websites requesting for submission. Directories that approve and list almost every website lose their credibility and search engines’ trust.

2- Directory should be well indexed in search engines. If it’s SEO friendly and well indexed in search engines than it can a great source for driving targeted traffic to your website? Right?

3- A web directory with broken, dead or expired links may lose their credibility in search engines. Many website directory owners approves a website and than never look back to see if the listed link still exist or full fill the submission criteria?
